The next LEGO NINJAGO Legends project is starting to be teased after its sets were revealed, and it looks downright gorgeous, even compared to Monstrosity.
We're still waiting for any solid details regarding LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Duskfall, but a series of teasers suggests that more is on the way soon. Three new LEGO NINJAGO Legends were released in many regions on June 1, all of which are based on the upcoming Duskfall project.
The first of the shorts depicts Kai and Nya piloting the models from 71870 The Twin Titan Mechs, in a stop-motion-style animation. This then switches to hand-drawn animation, showing Kai's mech broken and battered, with the core ninja nowhere to be seen.
The next teaser focuses on the inspiration behind 71871 Battle at the Dragon's Blade. It comes with an absolutely stunning backdrop that will make you forget that this is a LEGO project, rather than something from the likes of Studio Ghibli. This short also gives us our first look at an unmasked Jin.
The final short, uploaded more recently, has a description confirming a 'fallen hero' as part of the story. It's not looking good for Kai, all things considered. The broken mech is the focus of this short as years pass in a time-lapse. Jin can be seen climbing over the mech before looking out towards a cityscape.
It confirms that Duskfall will feature a massive timeskip, showcasing what NINJAGO looks like in the future. It's unfortunately impossible to tell whether the realms are still merged or whether the city is NINJAGO City. It will all depend on whether Duskfall is canon, like Monstrosity is.
We're still waiting for more details and a release date and further details for Duskfall, but the Legends page on LEGO.com has been updated. It would suggest that more news is coming soon, but this is only speculation.
For an idea of what to expect from Duskfall, you can watch the entirety of Monstrosity by clicking on the video below. Here's hoping that Duskfall is a bit longer, as the second Legends project.
The three LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Duskfall sets, 71870 The Twin Titan Mechs, 71871 Battle at the Dragon's Blade, and 71872 Ultra Dragon's Battle are available now.
